Virtus Pro announces roster update for the first Major

September 28, 2019

Five hours ahead of the deadline to register your team for the first DPC minor/major Virtus Pro announces an update to their roster.

The previous Virtus pro roster had been together since 2016, competed in two Internationals and claimed 5 majors wins together. But ultimately, they never secured the ultimate prize - The International. The team took a very disappointing 9-12th place finish at TI9 and seemed to have been the final straw for the current lineup.

More than two weeks ago Virtus pro said goodbye to their first player, Pavel “9pasha” Khvastunov, who headed to Na’Vi as well as to parted ways with coach Arseniy “ArsZeeqq” Usov. Last week it was announced that Roman “Ramzes666” Kushnarev was heading to North America to play for Evil Geniuses.

Now, VP starts adding missing pieces back into the puzzle.

The new roster sees Roman ‘Resolut1on’ Fominok transfer from J.Storm and from position 1 to the offlane. J.Storm have announced that Braxton “Brax” Paulson will be on trial with the team with Reso’s last-minute departure from the team.

Egor ‘epileptick1d’ Grigorenko will join the team as a trial playing carry. He is most well known for his spot at the top of the European ladder. It remains to be seen if the pub star can transition to the professional scene.

The only remaining players from the previous roster are mid laner Vladimir ‘No[o]ne’ Mineko and Alexei ‘Solo’ Berezin position 5 and captain.

Vladimir “RodjER” Nikogosyan has been benched and is available for transfers. RodjER joined VP back in 2018 when the team replaced Ilya “Lil” Ilyuk with RodjER, enjoying much success with the team almost immediately after joining.

Anatoly “boo!k” Ivanov rejoin as the coach for the team. He was involved in the teams 5-6th placing at The International 2018. Previously, he coached Gambit, who fell just short of gaining a place at TI9 automatically through the DPC system.

Virtus pro have just hours to secure their position 4 if they want to play in the qualifiers for the first DPC events.
